Designed to move heavy craft such as pontoon boats, the Power Thrust version of the Honda 9.9-horsepower four-stroke outboard generates extra thrust and reportedly offers as much power in reverse gear as it does in forward. These features, combined with the standard four-blade propeller, provide small
pontoon boats with exceptional speed, control and maneuverability.

Standard features include electric start and remote control. A
12-amp alternator puts out 6 amps at only 1,000 rpm to keep the battery charged. The one-piece crankcase/block assembly makes the motor strong and lightweight — the engine weighs just 89 pounds.

An extra-large intake silencer and baffled idle port chamber enhance quiet operation. According to the manufacturer, the fuel-efficient outboard meets EPA standards for 2006 and California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards for 2008.

The suggested retail price for the Power Thrust version of the Honda
9.9-hp 4-stroke outboard starts at $2,715.
